The Black Rubber Flap is the classic Pride-style refresh, built to block sunlight and provide a sturdier, more private feel at the opening. The original flap supports Pride Pet Doors, and also many discontinued Johnson and PetSafe Ultimate models, so you can keep an older door in service without changing your cutout.
A word of caution: The black flap prevents pets from being able to see through the pet door. For safety, make sure that when the locking cover is in place, the pets are on the same side as the cover so that they can see it.
Small Size Note:
The small flap has nubs that slide into a top channel. They do not screw into place like the Medium, Large and Extra Large sizes. The Small flap is not an exact replacement for Johnson or PetSafe Ultimate flaps. If you feel DIY-confident, you can modify the flap for use in your PetSafe pet door, but it is not a simple substitute, and once altered it is not returnable.
